Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma (Kustskepparintyg in English)
The Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma allows you to take the helm onboard!
It gives you the right to skipper any boat larger than 12 meters length and 4 meter width on Swedish pleasure vessels anywhere in the world. You can after completed exam also apply for the international certificate ICC 24 m power and sail certificate for an extra fee.
Most other countries also accept the Swedish Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma to skipper big pleasure crafts registered in their country for example Greece, Croatia, Turkey and many more.
This course provides basic knowledge in coastal and offshore navigation, night sailing including navigation with beacons and lighthouses, seamanship and safety in rough weather and much more
The course consists of two full days.
Before this course you have to have completed the Inshore Diploma (In Swedish: "Förarintyg") and you have to do the practical boat training in daylight or in darkness before you can get the Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma.
You learn more about offshore navigation, boating in bad weather and at night. During two amazing full days in an efficient and fast pace, we study coastal and offshore navigation, collision regulations and safety at sea, navigation with the aid of lighthouses.
A Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma shows that you have the basic theoretical knowledge and ability to operate a large pleasure boat offshore and in darkness and rough weather. The exam of the NFB's Kustskepparintyg is couple of days after the last course day (usually a Wednesday). When the exam is done, hopefully you will have a big smile on your face and your new certificate in your hand: The Coastal Yachtmaster Diploma (Kustskepparintyg).
The course is based on NFB's instructions, and we study collision regulations, light and night sailning. preventing collisions at sea, navigation marks lighthouses, how to use a compass, calculating speed, time, distance and positioning, to find a known position and latitude and longitude. Offshore and foul weather boating.
Participants are required to study at home between the lectures.

To join this course you must have the Swedish Inshore Yachtmaster Diploma (In Swedish: "Förarintyg") and also the practical boat training daylight.
- Day 1, 9 am - 6 pm, Theory
- Day 2, 9 am - 6 pm, Rehearsal
The exam starts at 6 pm Wednesday after the last day of the course, in Stocksund day 2 at 3:30pm!
This is needed for the course:
- Literature: Course book, "International Certificate of Competency Sail Boat Coastal”, Exercise chart 93 or 61
- Tools: Divider, protractor and nautical ruler
The study package is distributed on the first course day.
Practical boat training in darkness
You can choose to add the practical boat training when you book the course.
Requirements: Prerequisite to be allowed to do the exam is:
The Förarintyg and practical boat training in daylight or at night.
NFB authorized examiner performs the theoretical test. A fee of 625 SEK will be paid via Swish directly to the examiner. Remember to bring a valid identification and show you NFB blue book with the Förraintyg and boat practivcal training. After a successfully performed test, you will receive your diploma in the NFB's blue book. If you need a new diploma book, the cost is 65 SEK. The certificates are in English, German and Swedish. Please bring your ID.

Course Price: 2 495 SEK. The cost to NFB for the examination is 625 SEK.
Coffee, tea, fruit are included in the course fee.
The Inshore Diploma (Förarintyg in English) gives you together with Boatpractise (Båtpraktik) and SRC the right to ICC <24m Power Coastal. Read more about ICC
